Well, I was never sure how much to believe them, since as far as I could tell the experiments were just useless, painful things...

But a few weeks ago, we had an earthquake. And everything just - stopped working. The power cap lifted, monsters broke in, the grocery store stopped replenishing itself... [We were replaced with alternate versions of ourselves...]

I think it proved at least one thing that they said was true - they don't completely know what they're doing.
