1st Confession [Voice]
[Waking up dazed and confused in a desert with wings on your back... after thinking you're dead... never really helps a situation. Last he checked he was inking out his last bit of life on a church floor. And now he's in a shitty pile of sand with black wings on his shoulders. He was either alive and tripping back home in Gunsmoke, or he was on the road to a less than impressive Hell. But... that's a forest in the distance? He must've been seeing things. Worth a shot, at least?
So he staggers for an hour like a confused drunk and finally makes it to this green, wondrous land, were he just... collapses near the closest stream and drinks until his poor lungs feel a little better. Of course, after taking a short nap under a tree, he wakes up to a fat drop of rain smacking him in the forehead.]
Wha...?
[Is that... rain? Really? That's... sort of a miracle. Lots of miracles lately, eh? The journal falls open and voices trickle out of it. So after staring at it for a few minutes, he... speaks at it. After all, looking crazy is better than sitting out in a rainstorm--
He can't believe he's actually in rain. Real rain, none of that feigned sprinkler crap. And the desert's so goddamn tiny...]
Hello...?
Why in God's name am I talking to a book...
Can anyone tell me where the heck this place is? I'd also be really grateful if anyone could point me to the nearest food stand... Mainly if it has a nice, sturdy roof and something either warm or alcoholic to drink...
[A thoughtful pause. His back did feel too light...]
...And, uh... if you've seen a giant cross sitting around, let me know, huh?
Re: [ action ]
It's their knowledge of a certain kind of technology-- or phenomenon, it isn't really clear-- that gives them the power to keep everyone here, and conduct the experiments.
Re: [ action ]
[Probably getting much warmer, and a little more fitting. He rests backward, leg crossed lazily over the other.]
Then it won't be long before they fall apart from the inside. An interior war—the kind among supposed allies? It'll screw them over enough to stop their kidnapping bullshit. No one can keep a system running when they've got so much against 'em, especially if one of those people is themselves.
[He's got a particular sharp look in his gaze when he speaks, because he suddenly realizes he'll be having to do some battling down the line, somewhere, sometime, against these guys. Some fights are inevitable.]
Re: [ action ]
The things is... from what I've heard, since I've been here, whatever force draws us into this world isn't one the Malnosso are operating intentionally. They keep us in this enclosure-- but it doesn't seem they select and bring people at all.
Re: [ action ]
[The dangerous gleam in his eye lingers for a few moments more. Whether or not it means anything is entirely up to you, dear Ginko. While he's not entirely keen on killing someone, he doesn't mind roughing up a crowd. Definitely doesn't mind it.
If he were his old usual self, he would just horrifically pepper them with bullets the moment he had the chance.]
Re: [ action ]
Any name that appears on their roster is bound to be taken to the appointed headquarters outside the barrier; even though the man currently claiming to be in charge seemed distressed about this, it seems it was beyond his power to change anything.
So far, there's always a handful of individuals who didn't volunteer themselves who end up being sent-- very seldom has it included children, as there aren't too many here, and those who do go along are able to occupy themselves taking care of the wounded. Vash was one of them, in the last round. [a shadow passes over his expression, when he talks about this. Thinking of the girl young enough for him to call her a child, volunteering to weight murders on her conscience for what she believed was the good of others. It's the closest the mushishi will get to anger.]
Re: [ action ]
[He looks resigned to his thoughts for a moment before continuing.]
Looks like I won't be getting any rest from the usual chaos, then. That's all right with me—I'm not about to let them crush me or anyone around me under their thumb without at least some sort of fight.
Re: [ action ]
Well, Wolfwood-- I think that puts you in pretty good company, here.
Re: [ action ]
[One very good thing.]
Aa, sorry if I'm keeping you or something. Must be pretty repetitive having to tell the new guys all this so much.
[ action ]
[but he stands-- he has more ground to cover, in the private route he's constructed in his head] Think you can find your way to town?
Re: [ action ]
I've got the needle noggin on the way, so I'll just follow the river and run into him.
Re: [ action ]
Re: [ action ]
Hey, I wanted to ask... What's in the box?
Re: [ action ]
Tools of the trade.
If you're ever feeling oddly, and can't find the reason-- just let me know.
Re: [ action ]
He turns and starts off, throwing a handwave over his shoulder.]
I'll be sure to do that. See you around, Ginko.
