2nd Confession [Action][Future-dated a little]
[His back feels like shit.
...Maybe an exaggeration, but it still stood—something about the nakedness of his back was driving him insane. And that probably ruined vertebrae? It made him feel awkward and stiff at the shoulders all day prior. Strange how some things are even physically etched into your make-up over time. Forget the mental aspect of it, there's something a little more parasitic about that damn cross.
Behold, Luceti, he's emerging from the Smithy looking a lot more like himself: black suit, sure. Cigarette dangling on his lips, yes. Bitchin' Sunglasses, check. But now he's holding that ginormous cross like a shiny new present all for him. Untouched, it seems. Good. He didn't plan on showing it off any freaking time soon, but... still, he felt like he had to carry it—
Wait, what was he planning on doing with the damn thing? Carry it around the village?
Siiiiigh. Wolfwood, come on, think a little. Just shape up and get used to it...
...
He slings it over his shoulder like usual and automatically regrets this move.]
SON-OF-A-BITCH!!
[O-oh, those wings, those piss-ass wingsssss D'X
...
Yeah, good morning, Luceti.]
[You'll also catching him walking back toward Vash's place with said cross, looking a little less like he's about to kill a small furry creature. Don't mind him too, much... He's just, uh, avoiding forests because holy shit did you hear about the giant wolf?]

Re: [ action ]
[Wonder if shooting him to death would piss Vash off...
Wait, this is Vash, of course it would.]
Are there any other shady people I should keep an ear out for?
[ action ]
[A pause. Here, have a pet theory.] Luceti is... well, things are different here. It's obvious that the Malnosso have all the power, and there's no way for anyone to 'take over the world,' and so while that doesn't make the things that people have done any less horrible... it does remove a lot of their reasons. It gives them a chance to start over, if they want to. Now, whether or not they want to do that, or whether they at even deserve it... we're all stuck here together, and people don't stay dead.
So you never know what's going to happen to someone here... even if they were really terrible people in your own world.
Re: [ action ]
[He glances at her, frowning.]
The fact that they won't die might even make them worse.
[ action ]
And I didn't say they couldn't die here. Just that they don't stay dead. But even in Luceti, death takes a toll. [That firm, ruthless glint dissipates as she glances down.] It could be a memory, or an ability, or the use of a limb... no one who comes back to life here does it without leaving something behind.
Re: [ action ]
Do they take something away from those who were dead before they got here, then?
[Just in case, y'know, they do and took a memory or something from him... He doesn't like the idea of changing a man against his will, physically or mentally.]
[ action ]
Not that I've ever heard. And I... know people who have come here like that, and they haven't had any complaints.
[Are you one of them, mister?]
Re: [ action ]
Aaah, that's at least a tiny bit of good news. I wouldn't want anyone to suffer anymore than they had to, in a place like this. But they don't really have anywhere to go besides Luceti now...
[He hardly minds this, all things considered.]
I wonder how returning to our world works. People just... up and vanish? Everything in their room leaves??
[ action ]
I don't know anything about that, really. But so far, that's all that we've seen happen.
Re: [ action ]
[He didn't want to consider that they weren't sent home; that they may have been taken in for God knows what, that they may have been shipped off somewhere they'd rather not be...]
I apologize, I guess this isn't very lively conversation-making on my part...
So, how'd you end up meeting Meryl and the Needl—ah, Vash?
[ action ]
And I met Vash... at a meeting Sokka had shortly after I got here. I guess I got to know him better when I painted his room for him. Or... repainted it. [A slight shudder at memory of the utter cacophony of color that had greeted her when she opened the door.
Re: [ action ]
Don't even tell me—I can only imagine.
[He chuckles a little.]
It's surprising you haven't met Meryl yet, but I guess that just means Vash hasn't caused any trouble around you.
[ action ]
[But so much had happened after that.]
Re: [ action ]
He's pretty used to fighting—I imagine he was doing everything he could to make people stop, too... But he's good at rebounding and trying to get back to his initial love and peace mantra.
[He looks over at the forest, in thought.]
He's seems like he's doing good. I'm glad...
[ action ]
[Cough. Let's not go there.] Well, let's just say that it was pretty clear that he didn't want to go. So, I'm glad he's doing all right.
Re: [ action ]
[A curious glance. Oh well.]
Yeah. This place is a pretty nice one—I'll bet anything he likes this place more than back home, even with everything considered. Hell, I do, too. It's got some downsides, and maybe I'll be a little less happy once the experiments hit, but...
I guess to some, it'll be more like a vacation bein' in Luceti, as weird as that sounds.
[ action ]
There are some things about this place that are a lot easier... like the grocery store, for one. [But it's not home] So I'm glad you can see it that way. You should enjoy it while you can.
Re: [ action ]
Aaaa, I'm so damn happy for this grocery store—better than half-starving in a desert, you know? And Cacti is really a pain to work with. And when there weren't cacti...
Tsk, tsk.
[He shakes his head, frowning.]
A sad day for a preacherman's stomach.
[ action ]
The one time we were stuck in a desert, my brother cut some cut some cactus fruit opened and drank it, and he started seeing friendly giant mushrooms.
Re: [ action ]
...
...Drug-cacti?
That, though, is news to me.
[ action ]
[Besides living proof that you shouldn't put anything growing along the side of the road in your mouth.]
But I've never heard of Nopales! What do they look like?
Re: [ action ]
They're green vegetables that start out as purple buds on what you'd call a prickly pear cactus; some people prefer them before they reach their adulthood, but when you're stuck in the middle of nowhere with a broken motorcycle, you don't really have a preference.
[He grins.]
And they're actually pretty good cooked.
