...Maybe an exaggeration, but it still stood—something about the nakedness of his back was driving him insane. And that probably ruined vertebrae? It made him feel awkward and stiff at the shoulders all day prior. Strange how some things are even physically etched into your make-up over time. Forget the mental aspect of it, there's something a little more parasitic about that damn cross.

Behold, Luceti, he's emerging from the Smithy looking a lot more like himself: black suit, sure. Cigarette dangling on his lips, yes. ~~Bitchin'~~ Sunglasses, check. But now he's holding that ginormous cross like a shiny new present all for him. Untouched, it seems. Good. He didn't plan on showing it off any freaking time soon, but... still, he felt like he had to carry it—

Wait, what was he planning on doing with the damn thing? Carry it around the village?

He slings it over his shoulder like usual and automatically regrets this move.]

It takes some getting used to, I admit. Would you like something to help them stop aching so much?

[He rubs his head, finally looking at the young man.]

Medicine for it, you mean?

I'd be really grateful for it, though if it's just short-term I'd rather suck it up and start getting used to it. Or at least just learn to keep them well out of the way.

[He shifts his cross and looks at his back. One couldn't see his wings—they were under a black jacket, above a white button-up—but he sure as hell felt them. Might have even seen a dotted outline through ache alone.]

[Souji leans slightly to see if he can get a peek at the man's back.]

[He raises the back of one hand to his mouth as he laughs.]

[Then he turns and shows the blue and white wings protruding from his back poking through two holes in his white kimono.]

I guess you're right. I wonder how the wing color gets chosen...? Is it just random??

Mm....I don't know. [His wings twitch slightly and then he turns back to face the other man.] Perhaps they are significant to each person somehow?

[He smiles and bows his head.]

My name is Okita, by the way. Okita Souji. What is your name?

Maybe that's true... [When the boy introduces himself, he blinks; well, normally he just gives a handshake, but it seems some of the old culture is trickling out in Luceti—so he bows a little in return.]

I'm Wolfwood. It's a pleasure to meet you, Okita.

Looks like you're on a little mission there? [he points observantly to the basket, looking curious.]

An honor to meet you as well, Wolfwood-san.

[And he tucks that name away, smiling as he shifts the basket in his arms.]

Morning errands. Picking up the groceries for the day and such. Nothing quite as impressive as what you have there.

[He glances over his shoulder and pats one of the arms of the cross.]

Oh, this? Just a little token from home. I've had it since I was little, so it's a little harder to part with.

[He looks at the cross.]

[He looks at it, too, smiling.]

Haha, well, I was about... 12? I definitely had a lot of growing into it to do, but I feel a little naked without it, at this point.

It's a good thing you grew so well then.

[He smiles.]

I'm glad you found it again. Once your body adjusts to the wings, you may be able to hold it on your back again.

Oh! And yes, the medicine. I have it back at my apartment - Community #4, room 14. Come by anytime to get it.

[He brightens up a little more at that.]

Oh, Community #4? I happen to live there myself, in room 12. Looks like we're almost neighbors!

Aahaha, he's quite the famous one around here—no surprise there, since he was pretty famous back home [though not in the way he would have liked].

Yeah, I'm a friend of his. We traveled a lot together before he ended up here.
