[The feed seems abrupt, from black-to-color in an instant as it falls and flips open to show a... snow-drenched area...? No trees showing—just an expanse of bright blue sky and white off the edges. And then a noise nearby, off-screen—]

THUD.

[Something falls across the screen, and it's not quiet for much after that, because this is a stunned-turned-angry preacherman appearing in the video feed, back turned to the camera as he grabs the side of his head in complete shock. Or maybe it's rage. Or maybe, just maybe, it's both. One may be able to figure out from the snow, whipping winds, and barren area that Wolfwood is in fact on a mountainside somewhere.]

WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?!

[Last he remembered... he was just walking around town, same ol' same ol'... and then some brown-haired kid glared funny at him and he was gone. WHY DID THIS HAPPEN WHAT DID HE DO—]

[He'll switch the camera to video, just long enough to hold up one of the guns Wolfwood helped him find. In the background, he's clearly smiling.]

I can't make that toast if I can't find you, you know.

[A surprised look, and then a slow grin—his video's still rolling, too, so the amused expression is there in all of his male glory.]

Looks like you age up faster than normal people. I should've known you were too well-spoken to be that young.

Not that fast, thankfully. I'd been changed by the experiment too.

[Mihai laughs as he puts the gun away. Someone who appreciates the wisdom of his years? Say it's really so.]

Thanks. But you don't look much older than I did then. Are you even thirty yet?

[He leans back, rested. Hey, if you're going to be stuck somewhere, might as well get a moment of rest before hiking your ass back to base.]

I don't think so, no. I'm thinking around 28 is the right age. Though I'm not 100 percent sure of the month—you know how that can be, sometimes.

Not really. As much as we might try to deny it, men of my age are extremely aware of just how old we are.

[That'd be one way of thinking. Another might involve Mihai's, who is certain he doesn't recognize that landscape at all.]

Do you have any idea where you ended up? Or even how you got there?

[sigh]

I guess I ended up on one of Luceti's finest mountainsides.

How I got here? I'm not even really sure. One minute I'm walking through town, the next I feel little I'm free-falling. And then I was here.

...[smirk.]

Sounds like something that would happen to me. I truly hope your luck isn't that bad.

[Mihai considers just how much of a catastrophe this could all turn into, given his legendary sense of direction. But what else is he going to do?]

Do you need help getting back?

Fortunately, I've got some friends who're apparently going to come find me—besides, if you're as hopeless at trekking a forest as you are finding a shop, I'd be a little worried following your lead back.

[YEAH YOU'RE TOO OBVIOUS. Learn how to use GPS, mister.]

Fair enough. [Mihai knows he has no skills, okay. And he doesn't like all this new fangled technology. But he might be listening in on that other conversation just to make sure the friends get there okay.]

...You always push your luck so much?

[He smiles a little more softly at that.]

Back a few years ago? Not at all. But I guess my company's been affecting me, as usual—never have been the best at picking my influences.

[He's calm now. Decidedly accepting of his problem and ready to deal with it; that's kind of how you have to work back home. Spend too much time bitching, and it'll kick you in the ass.]

[Mihai considers that, then laughs faintly.]

So is he guy then?

[Wolfwood will know what Mihai means, probably.]

He seems like--ah, how to put this nicely. A complete goof.

That's putting it a little too nicely, old man. But I'm sure he'd appreciate your less truthful reply, more than mine.

Who knows? There's a lot to be said for blunt honesty. It's just easier for younger guys to get away with it.

Didn't know you were a smoker. One of my housemates has lighters to spare if you still need one when you get back. Though you could probably get your friend to bring you one if you asked.

Maybe I'll use that against him—'give me a lighter or I'll shave your head'. I think it's got a nice ring to it.

Just wanting to be sure you won't need a second rescue party because you irritated the first. Call it the concern of a friend.

That's a shame, because it sounded like such a good plan to me.

But I think it'll all work out. Besides, I'm lucky that the guy coming to help me wouldn't actually leave me out in the snow; something to be thankful for, I suppose.

It's still up to you to decide if you want to use it. Just leave me out of the credits if you do.

Ha, he's one of the few people I'll keep my mercy from, no doubt; at this point it's just the natural way of things. Couldn't be any other way.
