24th Confession [Partially Accidental Video/Action]

Ow, ow, ow, ow!!!

[This morning is starting off excellently, Wolfwood. Just peachy.

Ugh, what a headache. What a bodyache. They didn't have to be so rude about kidnapping him. Once the drugs have started to wear off and he can walk in a straight line, he'll retrieve the journal slung open against a tree and speak up into it, now that he notes it's recording anyway. Whelp, at least the journal was trying to offer an act of kindness. Even if it did squat... Nah, right now he was too worried about a.) Amelia's problems with Legato, b.) Vash being a dumbass while sick, and most of all, c.) how Milly's doing.]

Looks like I'm back. How long did they have me this time? [He makes a fist and presses his back grumpily; they also managed to give him back his clothes. How sweet.] And I think I actually got it good this time; no problems as far as I can tell...

Did I miss anything? Please tell me it was at least peaceful around here.

[You can catch him fully clothed and walking through or out of the forest. Maybe he'll stop by the restaurant or the bar. Gotta refuel myself, ya' know. Little does Wolfwood know, he's actually effected by his shitty ~~luck~~ mallynap: he can't answer any question untruthfully. Won't this be just good fun for a certain spikey-headed bastard. Otherwise, he's doing just peachy. B|]

But I never paralyzed him—though, I did have to fight the bastard, but in the end I never actually killed 'em.

[Can you see that look of astonishment on his face? That would be because trying to picture actually being able to fight with Chapel, neither kill nor cripple him, and actually live to tell the tale is kind of amazing. Well, assuming he wasn't you know, dead. Which is precisely why that astonishment look turned into a more concerned one.]

He was a strong fighter, even if he was a terrible man.

[betting that this was the same between universes seemed pretty sound. If only because he couldn't imagine him as being anything remotely close to a decent human being.]

[Wolfwood just offers a small shrug, cigarette dangling from the corner of his mouth. If I didn't know any better, I'd say he looked pretty content, about the whole affair.]

He wasn't too terrible, but he was damn pushy about everything.

[He looked up, toward Livio.]

When all was said and done, I couldn't bring myself to kill him.

[For a moment he's quiet. Yeah, his Chapel was pretty much terrible all across the board, and That calmness really wasn't helping much as it only further proved that even if this was Wolfwood it still wasn't his Wolfwood. He still feels kind of terrible about the whole "following his orders even if it meant killing his bff" thing. All in all? This was turning into a pretty depressing conversation for two people who had just met.]

[Wolfwood lets it remain quiet for a moment, studying Livio before breathing lungfuls of smoke from his mouth and nose; he's a pretty good judge of character, and despite being wary of this new face he's not exactly making it hard to believe everything he's said.

But. He's got hunches from previous words, and he's not afraid—nor hesitant—to put them to the test. His voice is level, as if answering a question put before him.]

Hey, Livio... Did you go through with killing me, in your universe?

[Am I dead there, too?]

[That was the one question Livio could never have heard this Wolfwood ask and he would have been completely content with that. He's quiet again, if only because admitting it really tears him up. But well- he did ask and he was obligated to know the truth. So finally, after what felt like an eternity of agonizing silence to him he spoke up.]

Yeah.

[Right to the point.]

[Heh. He shakes his head, a hand on the side of it, a low sound of dry amusement in his voice. It's all he can really ever do, about his situation back home.]

I don't get a break in another world, either? I guess it's just destiny.

[He doesn't really have a response for that, quietly tensing up with regret and all the other negative emotions that swell up to bite at him again.]

Well, guess it doesn't matter. I'm over it.

[Seriously. He's had a year to get over it. He's not dead right now, so what's the point of being depressed at bars anymore?]

And if the other Wolfwood is anything like me, he'll want you to get over it, too. He was your friend, right?

[Easier said then done, but he's working on it. Taking a moment for those words to sink in. It was true, his Wolfwood wouldn't want him to sit around and cry about it. In fact if he did that his Wolfwood would have to haul his ghostly ass back down from heaven and personally beat the emo back out of him.]

...I know.

[It's almost a shame he wears his heart on his sleeve, since he can't hide the fact that he went from "hurting" to "quite a bit less hurting" instead of completely feeling better.]

[After a beat, he just shakes his head. You're too depressing, guy.]

So if you know me, then you know Vash, right? Have you spoken to him yet?

[It happens, when your life is mostly one depressing turn after another.]

We spoke once. I... landed on him when I arrived at Luceti.

[IT WAS GLORIOUS. Unfortunately it doesn't quite register in his brain that Wolfwood would find this absolutely hilarious right at this very second. Logically he should, but he's kinda a derp like that sometimes.]

Ahaha! Go figure—needle noggin has the worst luck with New Feathers. Heck, it wasn't too long ago when a pretty lady dropped in on him, too.

... Hopefully he doesn't end up summoning anything the size of an earth worm. That would flatten the whole place.

They share the same place as me, so it makes sense they didn't recognize you. If I were you, I'd be upfront and tell them about what's going on; otherwise, they probably don't have a clue about any of this weird universe crap they pull on all of us.

[Wolfwood why you gotta be so chill? This entire thing is just... one huge mess to him. Not to mention it doesn't even make any sense. The very fact that there is something out there that is powerful enough that it can bring people in from other dimensions on top of well... everything else? Is a little hard to fathom. Even for a guy who is at least somewhat aware of how powerful Plants are. So after a moment of contemplation over all of these things.]

I still don't understand how they manage to pull off taking people from their universes to begin with, let alone keep them in line while they're here.

[Well, to be fair by that he means keeping them from hunting down where they live and blowing up their labs and stuff.]

From what I heard, they're not the ones who actually bring people here. It just happens. Then again, I'm not 100 percent sure about anything that goes on around here.

It shouldn't be able to happen at all, no matter who or what's to blame. [Not that he's trying to whine or anything, in fact his tone right now sounds pretty resigned. If it could have been helped then it obviously would have by now.]

Hey, I'm not complaining. [No seriously, he has no complaints about the being dragged to another world thing. It's the rest of it that pisses him off from time to time.] Look at it this way—you get to see more trees that anyone back home will for a long time.

[Yeah, he's just about all out of bitch and whine at this point. On that happy little subject change he'll quietly turn his attention over to the trees again for a moment.]

They are beautiful.

[.... even if he wants the kids back home to play in the leaves and stuff he'll just leave it at that. All out of energy to whine and all that.]
