16th Confession [Voice/Action] Forward-dated to the 25th

I—

I CAN'T DO IT.

[Hey, Journal, hear Wolfwood Milly yell in frustration. Anyone who's actually walking by would know why—after holding a cigarette inches from his her mouth, 'Milly' throws it on the ground and stomps on it violently. How could he possibly smoke in Milly's body? It just feels wrong. Drinking basically has the same feeling, really... Hell, it's not like he knows the body isn't really hers, not in their world. So he will be nicotine deprived for the next few days in his valiant, difficult efforts.

Miserable. Just miserable!

Granted, he's still carrying around a cross like it's nothing, so it shouldn't be too hard to figure out who he is. For now? He's just running around seeing what the hell's happened here. After all, people are in a panic, and he's needing to find people he knows to figure out what the hell is going on. This just had to be another event, right? First, he gets some normal-looking lady clothes for his bizarrely tall girl body (goddamn Milly, you're HUGE). He visits the apartment and eats, and then proceeds to go crash in his bed and try to sleep it off. Same as usual.

Except, fuck it, he can't. So instead he'll just be listening to all the panicked posts on the journal while shaking his head.

Her head.

...Eh.]

[Anyone who knew Mihai's housemates would understand why he feels a pressing need to vacate the premises from time to time. There's a lot to be said for quiet, and how it's utterly lacking there at the moment. Even if it had been silent, however, the depressing atmosphere is tolerable for only so long. So Mihai left, and went for a little walk.]

[Of course, that was three hours ago. Now, it's well past lunchtime, and someone is getting hungry. Unfortunately, looking like Ian hasn't helped his sense of direction in the least, which means he's gotten completely lost.]

[Help?]

Uh, excuse me, Miss? [Miss who is carrying a giant cross? Well, that's something Mihai doesn't see everyday...or any day, actually.] Could you help me?

Re: [action]

[identity profile] iamnotmilly.livejournal.com 2011-01-26 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, I'm a... 'mister'.

[s-sob]

I've just been cruelly put into a different body against my will... but uh, yeah—yeah, I can help. What's going on?

Re: [action]

[identity profile] stillbrokenson.livejournal.com 2011-01-26 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
...You too, huh?

[Mihai gives a faint laugh at that. Nothing cheerful, just the bitter chuckle of a man with similar experience.]

Well, it could be worse. You're still human at least. A friend of mine was turned into a cigarette.

[Funny coincidence, that.]

But anyway. I've managed to get a bit lost, and can't find my way back to my house. It's pretty embarassing, actually.

Re: [action]

[identity profile] iamnotmilly.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I wouldn't mind helping you out, one guy to another—

[A pause.]

You're a guy, right?

[Because if he's in a girl's body, the chances are there are a ton of ladies in male bodies.]

Re: [action]

[identity profile] stillbrokenson.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
[At that Mihai gives a genuine laugh; the concern is certainly a valid one, which is both funny, and a little sad.]

Last I checked. Well, before this mess started, at least. You wouldn't happen to have any clue about what the point to all this is, would you?

Re: [action]

[identity profile] iamnotmilly.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 08:16 am (UTC)(link)
Well... I know it's pretty out there, but for some reason? We're all being turned into the things we care about. Or love. Hell, even 'like'. I've even noticed some people going around as crazy stuff like cake or whatever you can imagine.

Re: [action]

[identity profile] stillbrokenson.livejournal.com 2011-01-28 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, no. I figured that much out myself. Between who I am and that friend I mentioned--the cigarette. [Further proof that Badou is hopeless.]

I meant that "some reason" that you mentioned. What's the point of changing us at all? Or bringing us here and giving us wings? I'm trying to figure out what the Malnosso are getting out of it.

Re: [action]

[identity profile] iamnotmilly.livejournal.com 2011-01-28 12:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, so you're pretty new to all this...

I guess it's just them experimenting on us and the setting, again. They tend to do it often enough, whether it's for data, shits and giggles, or just an accident all together.

...As for the wings, I know that they're kinda like... some sort of ID. Not to mention, if you try to rip them off, you'll die. There are people the Malnosso've been duking it out with outside of this place with actual huge wings, so if there's any connection, that's a good place to start.

[action]

[identity profile] stillbrokenson.livejournal.com 2011-01-29 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[Whoops. Mihai actually got his answer before the mister-turned-miss went into the bit about the wings, but knowing he was the one who made the mistake, he'll let the guy finish. It's only polite. After, he gives an awkward smile.]

Right. I'd read about the wings in the guide, but thanks. I guess I just don't see the point of turning us into people or things we care for.

[Especially since Mihai is far from fond of the idea. But there is something else he's been wondering about, so maybe now is a good time to ask.]

It's a little off topic, but I was wondering if you know where a person could find a gun around here.

Re: [action]

[identity profile] iamnotmilly.livejournal.com 2011-01-30 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Ah, he nods.]

Are you looking for your gun, or is it just about any?

[He shifts the cross on his shoulder, unconsciously. Because he definitely knows you can probably find the one from your world, if you're needing it.]

Re: [action]

[identity profile] stillbrokenson.livejournal.com 2011-01-31 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Well if I've got the choice, getting my own guns back would be the better option. Not to mention that I have a few friends who would feel the same about theirs.

[Mihai notices that shift--trained assassin and all. He lets out a soft laugh, then motions to the cross.]

You know, that thing looks heavy. I can carry it for you if you need a break.

Re: [action]

[identity profile] iamnotmilly.livejournal.com 2011-01-31 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
[He chuckles.]

No worries there, padre. I've hefted this thing around since I was a kid—and fortunately for me, this body was used to carrying around some heavy weaponry of her own.

[He nods toward the item shop.]

You might be able to find your own guns at the item shop, or at the weapon's place not too far from it. Chances are if they aren't there, they aren't in Luceti yet—but if you're lucky, someone in the weapon's place may have something for ya.

Re: [action]

[identity profile] stillbrokenson.livejournal.com 2011-01-31 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
If you're sure, then. [Mihai eyes the cross again for a minute, then grins.] Although it looks to be fairly awkward for a weapon. Aren't there simpler things you could carry around?

[Not that he means to be critical, but given his line of work, Mihai can't really help it.]

The item shop and the weapons place. [Mihai looks in that general direction. At least the former is right there, which greatly reduces his chance of taking a wrong turn. Still, there is reason to be concerned.]

You're going to have to forgive me for imposing, but would you mind just walking with me? I'll probably have to give directions to the others when I get back, so it'd be better if I didn't try to find it on my own.

Re: [action]

[identity profile] iamnotmilly.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
Weapon? Don't be silly—I'm a priest. [But his little smirky smile seems to entirely agree with your response; it's really just kind of obvious, in his opinion.] Sure thing; I've been meaning to stretch my legs, anyway. Female or no.

[action]

[identity profile] stillbrokenson.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
A priest? [That doesn't help his case much, given the last man of the cloth Mihai met. Plus the look on the guy's face, which finally just prompts Mihai to smile.] Well. I guess it really isn't anything worth prying into.

[Let the man have his ridiculously huge compensation weapon. Mihai would be happy enough to get back his guns. Which he'll immediately start looking for when they get inside.]

If you know anything about guns, they're a pair of M1911s (http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/reviews/wa_1911_premium/premium-09.jpg).

[In case Wolfwood feels generous enough to help look.]

Re: [action]

[identity profile] iamnotmilly.livejournal.com 2011-02-02 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Oi, leave my compensation out of this.

Wolfwood is the generous type, fortunately, so he'll be looking along with the young!old man.]

Something about those guns you prefer?

Re: [action]

[identity profile] stillbrokenson.livejournal.com 2011-02-02 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Kind of hard when it's that massive.]

You could say I built a career on them.

[The laugh that follows isn't exactly full of joy; more like the bitter sound of a guy that's just seen too much.]

If I have a choice, I'll stick with the familiar. That's all.

Re: [action]

[identity profile] iamnotmilly.livejournal.com 2011-02-02 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
[blame the author!]

A career, huh? Can't say that's out of the ordinary, my world. Guns control everything—it seems like it's always been that way.

[He understands the bitter sound, being one who would laugh the same way, over the same idea. So there's no need for words there.]

Re: [action]

[identity profile] stillbrokenson.livejournal.com 2011-02-02 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
[That's not as much fun.

That catches Mihai's attention, though, and he stops for a moment to look at the "woman." Some things just translate too well, regardless of where people are from.]

That's how it's been for as long as I've lived, anyway. About the best anyone could hope for was that the right kind of people made the better shots.

[A few steps down the aisle later, and Mihai will be reaching for one of his pistols.]

Looks like you were right. [He'll begin methodically checking the piece over, his motions far too easy and well-practiced.]

So what part do you play, if you don't mind me asking?

Re: [action]

[identity profile] iamnotmilly.livejournal.com 2011-02-02 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
[The tall woman finds the other pistol, and quietly looks it over in the same sort of weary, routine way—not a bad gun you have here, young-old-man. The woman has his back to Mihai, cross leaned next to her.]

I play the traveler who delivers mercy where it's due.

[And this lady is the one who normally derails that part of me.]

Re: [action]

[identity profile] stillbrokenson.livejournal.com 2011-02-02 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
[Maybe others wouldn't get the meaning of those words, the significance of the steady clicks that each gun makes as it's inspected. But Mihai's been at it too long, far too long, to not hear it.]

That's a nice way to describe an ugly job.

[With the not-woman's back to him, Mihai lifts a hand, fingers searching for a scar that isn't on his eyebrow. This isn't his body, but the one that put that scar there, that killed--]

I'd tell you to get out, but I get the feeling that it's too late for that.

Re: [action]

[identity profile] iamnotmilly.livejournal.com 2011-02-02 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
[He laughs in an all-too-wrong voice for the topic, echoing the same sort of defeated bitterness as the other, turning and holding out the gun by the barrel to the young man.]

It's a nice idea that I'd thrown around in my head, but I'm afraid it really is just a little too late for that.

[He leans back, chin tilted.]

Besides, I've learned how to play the devil to take care of better people... so I'm not too disappointed in how things ended up.

Re: [action]

[identity profile] stillbrokenson.livejournal.com 2011-02-02 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
[He's definitely right to think that girl's laugh is wrong for this conversation; Mihai thinks the same.]

It happens quicker than you think. You get dragged in, and it holds on like a dog that's sunk its teeth into your arm.

[Mihai smiles then, practiced but still easy, and takes the gun. The holsters are there too, and quickly enough the weapons are out of sight.]

You're probably too young to want to hear much talk like that, though. Especially if that last bit really holds true. Just don't dress like a devil too often. Even if it's for the best intentions, every pull of the trigger makes it less of an act, and more of who you are. And that young lady looks too nice to have a devil holding her hand.

... Don't you worry about too much about her, padre; she'll get someone who'll take good care of her.

[he stands straight, not caring to say much more than that]

And at any rate, I've got a friend around here who makes it really goddamn hard to become the act. Fortunately for me.

[He puts out his hand for a shake.]

The name's Wolfwood.
